About Blocked Drains

Blocked drains and blocked pipes can stop wastewater draining away efficiently, and can quickly become a major headache in a home or office area; and needs quick attention.

Clearing a blocked drain may not always be possible yourself, as they may be caused by corrosion in the pipes, roots of trees, or a number of unforeseen issues.

If its an indoor blockage, it could have occurred because of heavy materials or objects being flushed down into the drain. Blocked drains are often caused by sanitary products, paper towels, or other hard to flush materials.

Outdoor blockages can be caused by oils or fats poured down the sink, or foreign objects and dirt landing up in the gullies. Sometimes corrosion or structural damage can cause blocked drains.

A blockage in a drain can also prevent the flow of effluent or sewage through sewer pipes, resulting in a backup in the underground sewage network. This can overflow into public grounds, rivers, or even back up through your toilet.

Clogged drains and blocked pipes may start as minor issues but can quickly escalate into major problems.
